Ah! Finally rain! How I love a rainy day. Especially now when here in Florida the weather has been stingy with rain. Sunny days have peeked through my shutters every darn day for weeks, months even. The parched earth has been a fire hazard–like in California. Is this part of it? Part of the global climate change? I remember pouring down rain every summer afternoon–this past summer? Nada. It makes you wonder. What the heck is going on? Is Florida turning into a desert? Will a giant earthquake shake California loose? (Depserately hope not because I have kids there.)
The Earth has gone through several iterations before man ever got here. Continents were ripped apart. Sea levels lowered and islands popped up. Ice ages came and went and came again. So why aren’t we more humble? Why aren’t humans respectful of nature? We need this planet to survive but the planet doesn’t need us. Is it finally tired of our misuse of this gift? Is it shaking us off by making it uninhabitable, like Mars maybe? What lessons if any are we learning? Man made nuclear melt down poisoning everything? Young people need to heed these warnings. It is this world that you are inheriting. This powerfully wondrous place we call Earth.
Anyway, on a lighter note. My feral, but now domesticated lake cat, weekend cat, felt safe enough with us to have her kittens in our lake house. That means weekend house. That means we are not there all the time. What to do? Well, we carted mama and babies back to our full time house and we are taking care of her. Smart cat, brilliant cat even. Crept-into-our-hearts cat. And the babies? Beautiful markings. So it brings all the wonder of life right into one’s heart.
Love this world, embrace it all. It all part of the miracle of life. The miracle of conciousness. Dig deep and feel blessed for the experience.
