First the bad. My pitch for my second novel, Sunspots, didn’t make the first cut in that Amazon contest. Out of thousands of entries, it wasn’t picked. How does one feel about that? First of all with that many entries it’s like winning the lottery AND how the heck do TWO judges read that many pitches in a few months? Would hate to have their job. Anyway, hope is something that optimists like me have in abundance. Whenever I buy a lottery ticket I think I will win.
Now, the good is way good. The main newspaper for Jacksonville, Fl, the Florida Times Union reviewed my novel. Just that they reviewed it is big because they don’t guarantee a review when you send it in. But not only did they review it–the reviewer LOVED it. The article will probably show up in next Sunday’s paper, so I’m on pins and needles.
So moral: When it’s good it’s really good.
