So here’s a quick post. It just dawned on me after reading what a reviewer from the major newspaper in my home city said about my book. She really liked it but started off saying that the plot has become a cliche. Let’s see, I started writing this book in the early-1990s and couldn’t find an agent or a publisher who said yes until around 2008. Nearly ten years writing ( in-between working and being a mom) and nearly ten years to get it published. This story would have been cutting edge. This book would have been considered one of the first on this topic of overworked mother/career woman. BUT….So instead of being a leader, which I was, it’s possible that I’m seen as one more book, written well and engaging at least, on a topic that has flooded the market. Oh well, trying to find a lesson in that.
