Another year has come around. Whew, faster than fast. Last year, I took over as publisher of my debut novel, Walking with Elephants. It’s been quite an interesting experience. The book became a finalist in the Kindle Book Review Contest, received some really excellent reviews, and gave me a new neurotic habit–checking my Amazon sales rankings every few hours. My New Year’s resolution–STOP DOING THAT!!! I also spent much time trying to find the most bang for my buck for advertising choices around the Internet. Conclusion–I still have no clue where to put my money to market my next novel, Sunspots, and this will give me major ulcers. Do I use the same sites or do I find new ones OR do I not bother at all. For, Sunspots, I will stick to just the Kindle so that I can give it away every 90 days. And I will use Createspace for the print version. SO I WLL HAVE TWO BOOKS IN 2013. TWO BOOKS! WOW and WOW. At least I know that. Counting on some unbelievable unexpected interest for my second novel. Because I AM AN OPTIMIST. Especially, if I don’t check my sales rankings every few minutes. I know I said before every few hours, but no… it’s really every few minutes. Really sick and twisted. Help!
Going to Germany next week to visit my daughter and get the Christmas vibe there. The Hub becomes a million miler after this trip and we get the magnificent benefit for life of…checking two bags for free. Yes, something that was customary just a few short years ago in now something you get after you fly ONE MILLION MILES. That is also sick and twisted. But the good news is that I will be back home in time for the world to come to an end and our daughter will come back with us. On Dec 22, if we are all still here, I am going to eat an ice cream sundae to celebrate the continuation of the planet and tell the Mayans to stick it.
So looking forward to 2013, the fiscal cliff, the release of my second novel and see it go viral, the Earth to keep spinning as it grows hotter, and losing 100 pounds. Okay, so maybe not losing 100 pounds but loving myself anyway. Loving my family, my furry kids, my friends, and you out there.
