Barbarism, stupidity, and the Huffington Post

Once again there’s a mass shooting in the US. This time, not a home grown bigot, or a home grown crazy, but a home grown terrorist. This perplexing situation has no solution. When crazy people are willing to die and often do in these instances what can we do? Australia removed all the guns in the hands of their citizens. Period. No more mass murders. But we have a country of an uninformed electorate that thinks the 2nd Amendment has to do with every citizen being armed. Wrong. It was about being able to form a militia, an army so that we could rise up against a tyrannical govt. Because England was a tyrannical govt. But now we have a military, in fact, the largest in the world. So why do everyday citizens need weapons, assault weapons in particular? We don’t. We don’t even need to hunt, food is readily accessible in grocery stores. So hunting is just a blood sport. Killing innocent life for the fun of it. So now we are killing each other just for the fun of it. Because we have guns. No surprise that Jihadis come here and easily get guns because our Republican Congress owned by the NRA makes it easy for them.

On the day of the massacre in San Bernardino, Congress repealed the ACA. So not only are they indifferent to people killing each other in massacres, they also want people to die for lack of affordable health care. And by the way, it’s mostly the poor people that die from lack of affordable heath care and lack of safety nets. And we know how Republicans feel about the poor. Let’s defund Planned Parenthood so poor women that breed and use PP to get breast screenings and birth control among other health care will die. And let’s pretend we care about the fetuses. Fetuses that if gone to term, they would kick to the curb by starving them by taking away food stamps, having them be homeless because they want to remove welfare, and no medical care because they would cut Medicaid. It seems stupid, but actually it’s really evil. An evil element has been elected into our government that thinks We the People are only rich people. And amazingly, they have low-income supporters that vote against their own self-interest and help the rich people. Bigots and racists too ignorant and full of hatred to know what they’re doing. They have the perfect front runner, a Stephan King evil clown with orange hair.

On the day of the massacre and the ACA repeal, I wrote a comment expressing my anger at this mean spirited and ridiculous waste of time when gun safety restrictions and controls need our attention. Nearly 100 people responded to my comment. Wow, I thought, I wish it were that easy to get 100 people enthused about my books. I wonder if there’s a way I can use Huffington Post to do that?
