The holiday season is upon us

Facebook is the adhesive that keeps us all in touch. We used to send cards or call. A more personal approach but one that too often fell prey to busy lives. The phone call was not made, the card not sent and over time we lost touch with people that had been part of our lives. But now it’s easy. We wish our friends and family well, we send out love and thanks and hit send. Easy and also a way of not forgetting, a reaching out that sticks, a reaching out that still feels good. So sometimes the impersonal becomes more personal because we do it. We tell our friends and family, I have not forgotten you this holiday season and beyond. This is good and strange at the same time.

I wonder how we will be communicating 100 years hence. Perhaps just by thinking about a person? Too bad I won’t be around to see that.

So I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I wish you all health and happiness in 2014. 2014. Remember when we were afraid of all technology stopping when time moved to the year 2000? Hahaha.
