Mom turned 96, Sunspots, RHONJ

Went to Richmond, VA to celebrate my mother’s 96th birthday. She is a spitfire and fun lover. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren that lived nearby showed up as well as my older and wonderful bro and his wife. It was wonderful to see her and my dad’s legacy gathering together to celebrate. Each year, day, moment is precious to have her in our lives. Yea, Mom.

Sunspots has gotten some spectacular and thoughtful reviews. I love reading them and they recharge my batteries and validate me to myself as a writer. I can touch people. I can make them think. It’s astonishing. Of course there are the detractors, one man’s meat and all that, but I try and focus on the positive, since the detractors are  a small minority. This writing business is all about perseverance and acceptance of the limitations of getting the word out with basically no budget. I’m thinking about Bookbub very seriously, but after I accumulate more great reviews.

I watched the RHONJ premiere and you know, I think I’m getting sick of even that one. I don’t watch NYC anymore because I despise the women. And that’s happening with the new crop on Jersey. It’s hard to watch Teresa say her stupid things like, “I don’t know why this is happening to us,” about her fraud charges which they admitted to. Really? You committed fraud, you lied to banks, your lied to the bankruptcy court. You wish you could put money away for your daughters’ education instead of lawyers? Hello, fool. Too late to think about that now. You should not have thought you were above the law because you are famous in a perverse way. Yuck.  These shows should be outlawed. Really. Celebrating people who would do anything for a buck.
