Got our tree up already. Going to be a quiet season. Kids not sure if they’ll show up and one son is coming for Thanksgiving. With all the tumult being created by a deranged president I still realize I have much to be grateful. A Medicare survey made me see how lucky I am. Do you have shelter, food, necessary medications. That stopped me in my tracks. The answer for me was yes. But what about those who say no. Elderly people who are not getting by or just getting by. Compared to them I am royalty. Not only am I grateful for my comfortable retirement but I’ve been contemplating the absolute gift I have been given to have had a fulfilling life.
We all should take stock of the miracle of life. The joy, the sorrow, the beauty and the innocence of all life forms. Watching wild turkeys hop around my backyard, seeing the precious face of my sweet cat. All of it a miracle. We can see all this world and create our ideas about it. Our conscious abilities are miraculous and mysterious. Whatever our incompetent government does, it can never take that away from me.
Don’t take this miracle for granted is my message. Immerse yourself into the wonder of it. You won the lottery of life.
